Security is the foundation of everything we build at Portun. When you trust us with your community’s access control, we take that responsibility seriously. Here is how our system keeps your residents safe.

Portun Security Features

Encrypted QR Codes

Every QR code generated by Portun contains encrypted data that can only be validated by our system. Codes cannot be forged, duplicated, or reused beyond their authorized parameters. Each code is tied to a specific visitor, resident, and time window.

Photo Logging at Entry

When a guard scans a QR code, Portun captures a photo of the visitor at the point of entry. This creates a visual audit trail that pairs every access event with an image, giving administrators confidence that the person who entered matches the person who was invited.

Real-time Validation

QR codes are validated against the server in real time. If a code has been revoked, expired, or already used (for one-time codes), the guard is immediately notified. There is no window for unauthorized access.

Why QR Beats Traditional Methods

Paper logbooks can be forged and are difficult to audit. Phone-based confirmation is slow and error-prone. Physical access cards can be lost or shared. QR codes combine the convenience of digital access with the security of cryptographic validation, all without requiring visitors to install anything.

Your community’s security should not rely on outdated methods. Portun brings access control into the modern era.
