We have been working closely with HOA managers and community administrators since Portun launched. Their feedback drives everything we build. Here is what they are saying.

What Managers Love
- Reduced Gate Wait Times: “Our average gate processing time dropped from 3 minutes to under 30 seconds. Residents stopped complaining about long lines at the entrance.” — Maria G., HOA Manager
- Complete Visibility: “I can see exactly who entered and when, with photos. Before Portun, our paper logbook was a mess that nobody could read.” — Roberto L., Community Administrator
- Resident Satisfaction: “Residents love that they can create a QR code in seconds and send it to their guests. No more calling the guard booth to authorize someone.” — Ana S., HOA President
Common Feedback Themes
Communities consistently highlight these improvements after adopting Portun:
- Guards are more efficient: The scanning workflow is faster and more reliable than manual ID checks and phone confirmations.
- Fewer unauthorized entries: QR validation eliminates the guesswork. Guards know immediately if a visitor is authorized.
- Better record-keeping: Digital logs replace paper records, making audits and incident reviews straightforward.
- Happier residents: The convenience of generating QR codes from their phone means residents actually use the system instead of working around it.
“We tried three different access control systems before Portun. The others required visitors to download an app or pre-register online. Nobody did it. Portun works because visitors just need a QR code — no app, no sign-up.” — Carlos M., Property Manager
What We Have Improved Based on Feedback
Your feedback has directly shaped our product roadmap:
- Recurring visitor passes: Managers asked for a way to handle regular visitors like housekeepers and tutors. We added recurring QR codes with customizable schedules.
- Bulk resident import: Large communities needed a faster onboarding process. We added CSV import for resident lists.
- Guard shift reports: Administrators wanted end-of-shift summaries. Guards can now generate reports covering all access events during their shift.
We are always listening. If you have suggestions for how Portun can better serve your community, reach out through our contact page.
